Girls Western Rodeo Birthday Party
Every little girl only turns 1 once and this Mommy was determined to make it extra special! Brielle was the little birthday girl and when you’re the third and last child in the family, you want to make sure that you celebrate that first birthday with a BANG! Since Brielle hasn’t been too interested in things representing a girly-girl theme, a Girls Western Rodeo Birthday Party seemed like a great way to go! It was a great day and one where the adults had about as much (if not more) fun than the children did!
The colors used for this event were pink and brown. It gave such a soft and gentle feel to an otherwise “rough” rodeo! Above all EVENTS handled the event planning and executed the theme perfectly! The birthday party was held at KK Athletics in Brendwood, NY. It was a giant indoor soccer field, which was transformed into a giant rodeo! Mom found a few ideas on Pinterest for the theme, but Above all EVENTS handled the planning and execution of the whole thing and did such a fabulous job! Every detail was beautifully and perfectly matched. LasSana Photography was the photographer on hand to capture the birthday party for posterity!
On the day of the event, there were around 140 guests that attended to help Brielle celebrate her special day!
Check out those awesome cutouts of the birthday girl that were part of the centerpieces on the table! What a great idea to make sure the birthday girl was front and center for everyone!
The food served at the event was all themed around the rodeo. The chef prepared chili, Jack Daniels chicken, Western style macaroni & cheese, and of course, hamburgers and hot dogs! And … no party is complete without some fun signature themed drinks for the adults! That’s where the adult pink lemonade came in! That sounds pretty refreshing!
Desserts?! AHHH-mazing! There was cotton candy, popcorn, caramel popcorn, chocolate mustaches, and B shaped cookies for Brielle’s name, which also matched the pink & brown rodeo theme. On top of that, there were star-shaped cookies that looked like sheriff badges, #1 shaped cookies that were white and black to look like a cow print, cupcakes with cowgirl hats and sheriff stars and of course cake pops! Who can have a party without cake pops?! All of the desserts were provided by Icing on the Cake and they did an absolutely wonderful job! The bar also had a basket of chocolate golden nuggets! Phew! Sugar rush, anyone?!?!
Look at all of these unique treats that were scattered around the birthday party! Everything fit in with the theme so seamlessly!
Individualized bags of caramel corn were a great touch on the dessert table!
Super cute sheriff badge cookies were also among the desserts!
Individually wrapped treats were great additions for guests to take one on the run, or enjoy it at the party. How awesome!
More frosted sugar cookies fitting in great with the theme. YUM!
The party was also chock full of activities. A majority of the entertainment was provided by Didi Maxx Productions. There was also a professional cattle rope artist rounding up the children all day! He performed a show for the kids that was so entertaining and filled with tricks! The children had a potato sack race, a pie eating contest, face painting, coloring pages and pony corrals. As if that weren’t enough, there were also 6 blow-ups and bounce houses for the children to be entertained, which were provided by Goose Berry Grove. One of the blow-ups was for the children to practice gun shooting in the Wild West! They sure loved that!
Kids and adults alike were able to participate in so many great activities. Just because it was a birthday party for a 1-year-old didn’t mean that this party wasn’t created for all ages!
What an incredible event! Bouncy houses and cut-out picture walls … Wow!
The highlight of the event was the bull riding. Yup! There was a mechanical bull on-hand, courtesy of American Bull Riding and of course, the adults all loved jumping on the mechanical bull, too! It was soooo much fun and nobody even got hurt!
Once the celebrating had died down and the family was left with some great memories, it was easy to pinpoint all of the favorite elements and highlights of the birthday party. Mom’s favorite? “The decor was my favorite part! I loved every detail from beginning to end! The mason jars filled with flowers on the tables were stunning and my guests enjoyed bringing them home. Each table had a mini cut-out of my daughter dressed in her rodeo attire, which my guests were able to bring home! The Wanted Sign, mustaches and cactus were great photo props. The life-size jail was a big hit! Every adult and child wanted their picture in “prison.” But my favorite HAD to be the dessert table!” Sounds like a rousing success in my book!
There were also some awesome DIY projects that Above all EVENTS handled for the party. They made the shutters for the dessert table, the cut-outs for the photo station, the decorated mason jars, the crates for the dessert table displays, the banners around the room, and the “wanted” signs hanging around the room. They also designed the “Wanted” coloring pages for the children to decorate!
The shutters for the candy table came from Home Depot and were sprayed painted pink. The mason jars were purchased from Target and Above all EVENTS decorated them with ribbon and burlap. The crates used for the candy table/dessert table were purchased from Michaels and were then stained with wood stain.
What a fun event! If only everyday could be like a giant rodeo! As cowgirls like to say “Live a good, honorable life. Then when you get older and think back, you’ll enjoy it a second time.”
