Spring Love Styled Engagement Shoot
Kimberly Macdonald Photography captured the most amazing Spring Love Styled Engagement Shoot and today she’s sharing with us her vision behind her beautiful work.
“High school sweethearts, Christopher and Brittany have decided on forever. These two lovebirds have been dating for 6 years after meeting at a friends and family barbecue where they instantly hit it off. Who knew that a love that started so young would grow into a lifelong commitment of love and friendship. Christopher surprised Brittany on an early Christmas dinner date to Bodega Bay on December 22, 2014 when he got down on one knee and asked for Brittany to spend her life with him. Over the moon excited and knowing it was everything she ever wanted she screamed “YES”!
When the beautiful bride Brittany contacted me for their engagement photos and shared her vision I knew I had to contact a few amazing wedding vendors to fulfill her vision. Sarah Clark of Bloom Events Co. made the gorgeous floral crown, breathtaking centerpiece and flowers for the naked cake. We came up with the idea of using the color of Marsala as the focal point with purple and red hues along with the gold vase. She went for a loose bouquet with a modern twist of bohemian with the beautiful loose tulips along with the wooden branches of various trees and florals. I love how she took my vision to the next level!
There is no denying my love of naked cakes and I love seeing how the trend is taking off! Christina from Supreme Sweets made a delicate 5-tier naked cake with blush pink frosting. Naked cakes are wonderful for all types of weddings, as they are so versatile. I love the way the cake turned out and Sarah from Bloom Events Co. beautified the cake with her floral decor!
The dessert table could not have been possible without Kelly’s rentals from her company Rustic Love: Home Decor & Event Rental. I told her I was inspired by the tones of Marsala, pink and gold and she perfectly incorporated her rustic hearts made out of wine barrels, the dark wooden dessert table itself, better together sign, and much more. It was the perfect mix between modern and rustic.
The blushing bride Brittany looked absolutely flawless with her makeup application by Brittney Rhoades owner of Makeup by Brittney Lee. Her red lips to her purple hues and smokey eye, looked absolutely amazing! Mix her beautiful tones of makeup with that to die for floral crown and voila! Perfection! These two were a joy to photograph. Their love for one another is so apparent and their anticipation of their wedding day is infectious.”
