Trimming the Christmas Tree Party
Jessica of Party Pants styled this gorgeous Trimming the Christmas Tree Party for her kids – a yearly tradition for her family!
From Jessica: “Each Christmas our family makes a special event out of decorating our Christmas tree. We invite family and friends over and celebrate with hot chocolate, sweet treats and Christmas music. But each year the kids always end up arguing over who got to decorate the tree with the most ornaments. So this year, I wanted to include the kids in the festivities, so I threw them their own Trim The Tree Party, complete with their very own white Christmas Trees and colorful ornaments to decorate!
The Homespun Hostess created the colorful printables and signs for this event and it set the tone for the dessert table. I added the “decorate” tags to plastic ornaments filled with candy. The candy filled ornaments sat on top of snow beds inside colorful gift boxes. The kids washed all the sugar down with drinks poured into clear ornaments topped with striped straws.
The gorgeous cake by Queen B’s Cakery was modeled after the invitations and acted as the centerpiece of the dessert table. Other dessert included a tower of freshly made donuts and cupcakes topped with fondant work by Adorn Cake Design.
I set up a small table in front of the dessert buffet with baskets filled with ornaments to decorate bare, white mini trees. When the kids were done decorating and filling their bellies with sweet treats, MJL Photography and Films snapped photos of the kids holding “oh Christmas tree” banners to use in our Christmas cards – another holiday tradition of ours!
